Default Steering ratios

Has anyone changed the steering box to a faster ratio 2.5 turns to 3 turns from 3.4 to 4.2 turns? Did you have any regrets?

I need a new steering box anyway as the current one is leaking and I need a winter project to add to the repainting the steering column and a new wire harness in the dash as this is the only piece of wiring I have not changed yet on this car.

Also going to pull the XXXX out of the Camaro and get that fixed.

Ric, you need to know the gear ratio not just turns lock to lock. You can get a gearbox for a Camaro that has fewer turns lock to lock but is still the same gear ratio as the Chevelle box because the Camaro steering gear is different. Then all you've done is reduced your turning radius.

That's why the Grand Cherokee swap is a good one, maintains full turning radius but the gear ratio is better. I think the AGR box should do the same.

Edit: should have said increased the turning radius.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to give these a call as they seem to be the experts on these kind of swamps and have everything all in one package.
