I'd love to know how Mr Sitton came into possession of the car in the first place. He needs a serious ass kicking for what he did. I hope someone plasters his picture, name, and address all over the net so everyone knows what a worthless pos he is.

I listened to the radio interviews on U tube and Mr Sitton purchased the car from someone in the town he lives in. He only got a bill of sale and no title. Now somehow he found out that the title said that Mr White's name was on the title as well as Mr White's son. He paid 5k for the car and said that he does not believe that he is in possession of stolen property. He does not know if he should give the car back.
The DJ kept asking him why he never transfered the title. Mr Sitton said it is not uncommon for people in the classic car community NOT to transfer the title if they can't drive it. This guy new what he was doing. He got a 1 of 4 Cuda packages of this car sold of this particular model for that year. Think about it, a restored Cuda of this year can go for 70k-110k.

Town he lives in is the same town the car was stolen from on 2001. Right here in the tricounty area I live in. Oregon still requires a title on all cars no matter the year. If you don't have a title then the DMV notifies the last owner to try to get a title or have that owner sign off on the car. Or you have to chase down that person. They will not transfer title using a Bill of sale unless you have the owners signature on a application for lost title and it has to be notarized. That's what set off the fire works on the car when DMV sent the letter to the Whites. So anyone who lives in Oregon knows better then to buy a car with a Bill of Sale unless you are using it for a parts car. Sad part about the car is the parts that were taken off may have been the matching number parts for that car. In my mind if they were then they should have been returned with the car because they can be proven they belong to that car.

Same thing here is Michigan, something is fishy with Mr. Sitton and the whole situation.

In my opinion. He stole the car. Waited it out. Tried to title it. Then when he got caught used his buddies in the police dept to throw a smoke screen. Then refused to give it back. Then destroyed it because he couldn't keep it. How about possession of stolen property, Vandalism for starts. |

He should be prosecuted for possession of stolen property. And I see no mention of law enforcement going after the person who sold him the car. The inaction of certain people drives me nuts!
