I must be living in a bubble here in SW Pa. I've been employed 40hrs + a week for the past 4 years as a Union Carpenter. We've been building car dealerships, entertainment facilities, etc. Last I checked, dealers don't build dealerships when they aren't selling cars. FYI its a VW dealership so no, gov bailout money. I've been looking at homes in the $175k-$230k range, they normally sell in weeks. I go to a local casino, place is always packed. Economy seems ok in this area. When a candidate outright states he wants to end Unions and you are a Union worker, guess what. The Republicans need to adapt or they are going to continue to see the result that they received Tuesday. Young people have grown up in an era where "alternative" lifestyles are the norm and see the Republican opposition to it as archaic. They cling heavily to religion and the U.S. is factually moving away from it. Then they have assinine candidates claiming rape is "god's will" further alienates them. They lost it more than Obama won it. Romney couldn't even win Mass for cryin' out loud.

I especially agree that we need to take care of each other. I will just add that we need to stop trying to "Keep up with the Jones's". I saved for many years to be able to purchase a new car, I didn't want a huge car payment. For many years I went thru having the worst credit because of a divorce, and I learned to live by paying cash for almost everything. When the economy crashed I was still living that way so I wasn't hurt as much as my friends who lived on credit.

I don't know what the next 4 years are going to hold, but I am going to hold onto my cash...just in case.
Sorry about the one paragraph, writing skills go out the window when i start ranting. I am surprised i even put a period in there somewhere.
